I have a way out for you and trust me it’s even better than buying a new textbook. Try Algebrator, it covers a pretty comprehensive list of mathematical topics and is highly recommended. With it you can solve various types of problems and it’ll also address all your enquiries as to how it came up with a particular solution . I tried it when I was having difficulty solving questions based on algebra cube square and I really enjoyed using it.

Algebrator is a amazing software. All I had to do with my difficulties with simplifying expressions, graphing function and radical equations was to just type in the problems; click the ‘solve’ and presto, the answer just popped out step-by-step in an effortless manner. I have done this to problems in College Algebra, Pre Algebra and Remedial Algebra. I would confidently say that this is just the thing for you.
