# Systems of Linear Equations

A System of Linear Equations: a set of two or more linear equations that are to be solved at the same time.

A Solution to a System: an order pair that is a solution to every equation in the system.

Solving a Linear System Graphically: graph the equations on the same coordinate plane. The coordinates of the point of intersection are the ordered pair solution.

Consistent System: a system with at least one solution.

Inconsistent System: a system with no solutions (the lines are parallel).

Dependent Equations: equations whose graphs coincide.

Independent Equations: equations whose graphs do not coincide.
